Yi Maek

Yi Maek (李陌, 1455 – 1528) was a civil official of the early to mid Joseon period.

이력

His family seat was Goseong (固城), his courtesy name was Jeongbu (井夫), and his pen name was Ilsipdang (一十堂). He was a descendant of Yi Am.

생애

In 1474 (5th year of Seongjong), he passed the jinsagwa (進士科) of the samasi (司馬試). In 1498 (4th year of Yeonsan-gun), he passed the Sikyeongsi at the byeonggwa (丙科) rank. He rose to the posts of Jeonjeok (典籍) at the Sungkyunkwan and Jangnyeong (掌令) of the Saheonbu, but he was disliked by Yeonsan-gun and exiled after he repeatedly impeached Jang Suk-yong (張淑容), who enjoyed the king's favor and lived in luxury. After the Jungjong's coup of 1506, he returned to office and served as Sagye (司藝) of the Sungkyunkwan, Jangnyeong of the Saheonbu, and Dongji Donryeongbu Sa (同知敦寧府事). He reached the rank of Dongji Donggyeongbu Sa (同知敦寧府事), and it is said that his character was very upright and that he was fair in all matters.

• Taebaek Ilsa (〈태백일사〉, 太白逸史)¹: The first volume of the five-volume Hwandan Gogi (《환단고기》), which comprises the Samseonggi (Part 1), Samseonggi (Part 2), Dangun Segi, Bukbuyeogi, and Taebaek Ilsa.
